This blog has been rather quiet for the past nine months, not least because teaching commitments at three different institutions required almost all of my attention since September. I am delighted to have since been appointed Visiting Professor at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden (from 1 March 2022).

I have also been actively involved in organising a new international lecture series under the roof of the GMTH, which I had initiated as member of their working group for international affairs and which will comprise music theory / analysis papers and panels with subsequent discussions, to be held about three times per year. The series has now been officially announced and will be launched on 25 April 2022, 7.30 pm CEST with an opening talk by Prof. Kofi Agawu (Professor emeritus at The Graduate Center, City University of New York) entitled 'Rethinking (American) Music Theory, with African Aid'.
